Halifax Firm Designs Presentation,
Wins Award at Massachusetts Conference
Halifax, Nova Scotia – August 25,
2002 – McGill University graduate student Tim Bredy received
top honours this week for a poster presentation designed by
Halifax’s Liberated Design Studio.
Bredy received top prize in the Post-Doctoral category at the
Society For Behavioral Neuroendocrinology’s annual international
conference, held this year at Amherst College in Massachusetts.
Over 400 participants attended the sixth annual five-day conference,
which ran June 26th to 30th.
The Halifax native had conducted experiments to investigate
the relationship between cognitive ability in adult mice and
extent of parental care received as pups.
Liberated Design Studio prepared a poster that presented the
findings of Bredy’s experiments in a manner that is easy
to read while maintaining artistic integrity.
“Designing a poster presentation that was both visually
attractive, and which met the contest’s specific technical
requirements, was a challenge,” said Liberated Design
Studio director Chad Lindsay. “We are delighted that our
work was recognized at such a prestigious conference.”
“I’m truly honoured to receive this award,”
said Bredy today from his Montreal home. “We all put in
a lot of work, making sure that the poster was perfect. I’m
glad it paid off.”
Liberated Design Studio has also been invited to design posters
that will be featured at the Society of Neuroscience Conference,
to be held November 2-7, 2002, in Orlando, Florida.
